APPLE CHIP FRESH CAKE

Ingredients
- 1 cake
- 1 1/2 cups cooking oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 3 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1 cup nuts (walnuts)
- 1 cup raisins
- 3 cups finely chopped apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 stick butter
- 1 teaspoon white corn syrup
Directions
GLAZE
Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Boil hard for 2 minutes. Pour over cake while hot. Let stand for 1 hour or more in tube pan until icing soaks into cake.
