FRESH APPLE CAKE

Ingredients
Directions
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
3 cups peeled, chopped apples
Mix all ingredients. (May add 1 teaspoon nutmeg and 1 cup coconut if desired.)
Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
TOPPING
Mix together in saucepan; heat and pour over cake.
(This may be halved if you do not like a lot of topping.)
