Directions
Early in the morning - Spread mayonnaise on each slice of bread. Put "mayonnaised" sides together.
Cut in half.
Wrap each half in wax paper.
Put in brown paper bag.
Place in glove compartment of pickup truck.
Journey to tobacco field.
About 10 a.m. - Remove brown paper bag from truck.
Serve sandwiches to children for their morning snack (have some for some of the adults too!)
There has been much controversy over the use of salad dressing as a substitute for mayonnaise on these sandwiches.
Some people prefer the salad dressing; others insist on the authentic Mayonnaise Sandwich!
